Comments please!!

Yeah, so I have been wondering if anyone is reading my blog. I feel that I write some pretty humorous stories that deserve some comments but never get them. So I was just wondering, does anyone even read my blog or am I neglecting my child to write my blog just for my pure enjoyment of spending time on the internet? For those of you who do not understand how to leave a comment (Mom, Lori, Bequita) all you have to do is click on the little blue words that say COMMENT and it will open up a place for you to type your comment. But hey, really, if you don't find my stories entertaining then I will understand, and the blog will eventually fade out....
Poor Cannon, no one thinks he is as cute, adorable and funny as Andrew and I do.
(did my guilt trip work?) :)

Little Monkeys

So I had an interesting discovery today. I went into Cannon's playroom, which is a complete mess! You can barely see the floor with all the toys that are thrown about! So I guess it just blended in until I stepped on it! I felt something cold, slimy, and sticky. Dreading to look down I immediately expected the worst. I mean seriously, what are you thinking right now as you are reading this. Well, it was the banana peels of FOUR bananas! I had bought five bananas when I went to the store this week and left them on the counter. Since I don't keep an eye on Cannon and Ella every second, they must had sneaked them off the counter top and hid under his climber and had a banana feast! That happened yesterday and I am just now finding them and realizing the bananas are gone. Does that mean I am a bad parent??? I tell you what, Cannon and Ella find some of the most mischievous things to do when they are together. One day I found them with A & D ointment all over them. Yesterday when Cannon, Ella, and Shelby were playing outside I walk out to find sunscreen poured out all over the patio and smeared all over their face and clothes. Man, I think I see a pattern here! Where is the parent?! Maybe I am not cut out for this job after all!

Sick baby=Lazy weekend

We started out our weekend great! We had a Sunday school party Friday night. It was a guitar hero extravaganza tournament. Andrew of course won first place, I took third! How cool are we! But then Saturday morning we woke up to a sick little boy. Cannon threw up within 30 minutes of being up and didn't stop the rest of the day! He couldn't keep anything down and was running a fever. I loved the fact that we knew he was getting ready to throw up due to the fact that he always wanted Andrew right before it occurred! Now if you know Andrew, you know he is not too big on bodily fluids of any sort being within 100 feet of him, so having to hold a puking kid was definitely not his ideal job! He was such a good Daddy though. He took good care of Cannon while I cleaned up the mess! Our poor little boy has just been laying around this whole weekend. And what kind of parents would we be if we didn't join him right?? So we all just laid around the whole weekend! I can't even begin to tell you the number of hours of TV we watched! And how many hours we spent sleeping. We truly had a very relaxing weekend, well besides the throw up part!

On a personal note, I am happy to report that I am finally back to single digit sizing in clothes! YAY! I am so happy that I am making progress! I still have a little more I would like to see go but I am beginning to be happier with my body! It makes such a big difference when you feel good about yourself and like what you see instead of hating to even catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror or heaven for bid a picture! God has seen my struggle and has helped me to find myself once again! Thank you Lord! Of course everyone says that I am just losing weight to gain it back once I am pregnant, but hey, I would rather do that then keep packing the pounds on! Hopefully next time around I won't look so puffy the whole time and get asked if I am having twins because I am so big so soon! :) I just hope the day comes soon when my hubby decides he is finally ready for another kiddo! The Lord knows I sure am!

Trapped!

Cannon loves playing with and in the water. He loves getting up on the bar and pouring water into cups and then transferring it from cup to cup to bowl to cup. He makes an absolute mess! So finally since we had 80 degree weather I decided to let him play out in the water. I got the water hose out and filled up his turtle with water. I also gave him several cups and bowls to play with. I had fun spraying him with the hose and listening to him giggle and run around. Finally I set the hose down in the turtle to let it finish filling up. I had to run back in the house to take care of the boiling water for the tea, and I turned around to see Cannon grabbing the hose! I knew what was coming next!! I ran as fast as I could to close the back door and I did it just in time to miss the stream of water heading straight through the door! That would have been really fun to clean up huh! Needless to say I was trapped inside the house for about five minutes while Cannon had free reign of the water hose. He particularly like spraying it at the window I was standing at, laughing at my pleas for him to put the hose down! I think he played in the water for almost 2 hours! He had lots of fun! Here are some pictures!

Bad Momma?!?!?

So I have been told that I am a horrible mother because I did not do an Easter basket for Cannon. I know it is SOOO against tradition but hey! why can't I start my own tradition with my kids and it be perfectly fine! I feel that Easter or what we will now also refer to as Resurrection Sunday, is all about Jesus Christ! I don't want Cannon, being at a very impressionable age right now, to associate Easter with getting a basket full of toys and candy. God made the ultimate sacrifice giving His son's life for ME/US that He deserves more credit on this holiday then the Easter bunny! I was raised getting an Easter basket and I loved it! But sometimes I think that was my focus as a child instead of the resurrection. There are only a few holidays throughout the year that are Christian holidays and Easter is one of those that I don't want to get watered down by societies standards and the true meaning crowded out by the make believe character. God has done so much for me, this is the least I can do for Him! So I am not saying that we will never do an Easter basket, but for right now Andrew and I have decided that we will exclude it from the holiday. Hey, we gave the boy an Easter egg hut! And he absolutely loved it! I have a video and then pictures we took on Resurrection Sunday!

Bubble Maker

Cannon has been really into bubbles lately! I was tired of being light-headed so I decided to use the wonderful technology advances in the bubble industry and invest in a bubble gun! Well much to my dismay and Cannon's it proved insufficient to Cannon's bubble demand. Well I didn't spend $4.00 on a toy just to throw it away! So I promptly took it back to Wal-mart and got my money back! Andrew thought I was a little crazy but HEY! I pay for things that work! After getting my money back I decided I would look again at the array of bubble makers (as Cannon refers to them) to see which was my next trial product. I could go for the $8.00 bubble gun that insure 10,000 bubbles a minute or the $10.00 automatic bubble maker that just sits there and Cannon can not do anything with. Knowing my son I knew the one that just sits there would not suffice and the more expensive bubble gun, well lets just say I've been there and done that! My search continued until I reached the end cap. There it was! The perfect bubble maker!!! With a $20.00 price tag! YIKES! So I did the following: Ring...Ring...Hello. HI HONEY!!! Heeyyy? What do you want? WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I WANT SOMETHING???? I can tell by the way you said Hi honey. OH! HAHA WEEELLL.....HOW MUCH WOULD YOU HATE ME IF I SPENT $20 BUCKS ON A BUBBLE TOY FOR CANNON? wwwhhhhhaaaaattttt! No way! WELL NOW LET ME PLEAD MY CASE! CANNON LOOOOVES BUBBLES AND WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR ON THAT WORKS GOOD AND THIS ONE LOOKS REALLY GOOD! AND! IT DOESN'T TAKE BATTERIES!!!!! THAT IS SAVING A LOT OF MONEY RIGHT THERE! I don't know. PLEASE! IT WILL MAKE CANNON VERY HAPPPY! I suppose if you think he really needs it. We now have a lawn mower bubble maker that Cannon absolutely loves! :) If Cannon really knew all that I do for him! Here are a few pics of Cannon with his new bubble maker! ENJOY!

The Beauty of Spring!

I love how everything is coming to life again! The pretty green grass and trees, the flowers, especially the wild ones! There is a field by Andrew's work that is covered in bluebonnets. It is absolutely gorgeous! So I decided to take Cannon out there to get some good spring pictures. Here are a few that we took.

Also I decided to redo my flower beds. I didn't like the big shrubs and all the clipping I had to do to keep them looking good so I pulled them out! I want to get rid of the remaining two but I will do that probably next year! I was going for the tropical look! Do you think I succeeded?
