The Curiosity of 2 year olds

We have all heard the saying curiosity killed the Cat, well I think there should be a saying that goes along with a two year old too! Today I was watching my friend's little girl Ella. She and Cannon were playing outside and got distracted by a wasp that was flying around. If you know me, then you know I instantly freak out by any type of flying insect, especially those that STING! Well I noticed their curiosity in the flying insect and they watched as it landed on Cannon's wagon. They ran over to inspect it and grab for it. Well, I started freaking out and yelling telling them to hurry up and get in the house! They just stand there and look at me like I was crazy! Again I yelled for them to come inside and no response besides their dazed looks. Finally, I brave the elements and try to get them inside and the wasp decides to land right on the door! So now I have to figure out how to get them inside without making the wasp fly inside as well! That's when I notice Ella walking over to the wasp with her finger out getting ready to touch the wasp! I started screaming for her to stop and scared the poor girl to death! So now I have two little kids running around in circles screaming their heads off and LAUGHING!!! They think it is all just a funny game! If they only knew the danger and pain I was saving them from!

Boys will be boys!

Wow! How do boys think of the things they do! Cannon, my sweet little 2 year old, has not been so sweet lately as much as he has been ornery! I love being able to stay home with him but sometimes I wish it was someone else here that had to clean up his messes!

Cannon is currently banned from any type or writing utensil! In the past few day we have found ink marks all over our new couch cushions as well as chalk all over the leather backing of the couch! Here is the story on the chalk!
~I will open up the back door so Cannon can come in an out of the house as he pleases on warm days. I gave him a pail full of sidewalk chalk to use OUTSIDE which he did, on the window screens, the fence, the sides of the house, and a little on the patio! Then I noticed he was a little to quiet! So I go try to find him only to hear him in the laundry room. He knows how to get out of the backyard now. So I got on to him and put him back in the backyard, then put the lock on the gate. Well in that timing I come back in the house to find chalk all over the back and sides of the couch!!!! Luckily, it is only chalk and wipes off of leather easily. BUT then I find it all over the doors in the laundry room and the wall! AHHHHH!!!!! Where in the world do these ideas come from! Why is it so much more fun to write everywhere but where they are suppose to! I don't understand!
I wish I could put pictures on here to show the damage but hey I have already told you the story behind that one!
You gotta love him! :)

Zoo Day!

Yesterday my friend and I took our kids to the Fort Worth Zoo. It is such an amazing zoo! It was way better than the Dallas Zoo. I really miss the Tulsa Zoo. I haven't been in a while but I use to love that zoo. But the weather was wonderful! We were in the 80's yesterday! The kids had a lot of fun looking at all the animals and making the sounds that each make. Cannon suprised me by asking where the Rhino was! I was so amazed that he remembered an animal from his books! He is getting so smart! This weekend we are getting together with our sunday school class so that we can get to know each other better. We recently joined a ss class that just started so everyone is new and doesn't know each other! We are really looking forward to making new friends and getting more involved in Church! Cannon loves going to church now. Anytime he is driving around in his little car and we ask where he is going he tells us "church." :)
He is catching on to so many things too! On most nights before he goes to bed we read him a Bible story and then say a prayer. Well he knows that as soon as Daddy closes the Bible that it is time to pray, so he folds him hands ready to go! But if Andrew and I do not fold our hands as well he will not let us proceed in prayer! It is so cute! And then to listen to him say his prayer and tell Jesus he loves him just overjoys my heart! I love it! The other day we found Cannon grabbing books and pretending to read them, then close it and mumble a few words and then said AMEN! :) HAHA! I am glad to see he prays even when we are not guiding him to!

The Loves of my life!

We had a great V-day weekend! Cannon got to go to his Uncle Brenden's and Aunt Kristen's house with his Nana and Aunt Ray Ray! He enjoyed playing with his cousin Caeden and of course Aunt Ray Ray! They baked a cake, made chocolate covered strawberries, and he was a great taste tester I heard! :) So, while Cannon was off having fun with Nana and Ray Ray, Andrew and I enjoy a nice QUITE evening! It was wonderful! We had dinner at Olive Garden, because Andrew believes Italian in the only romantic food you can eat on Valentine's day. Such a nerd! It was nice to be able to eat without wrestling with a kid to stay seated and no drink spills with what awesome! :) On Saturday we got up after "sleeping in" which was only 8:00, I told Andrew I sleep in later than that everyday!! But it is sleeping in to him since he gets up at about 6:15. I had the pleasure of dragging him, willingly, all around the mall to look for dresses for Dana's wedding. I didn't have much luck on that part though, I think I have to wait another month or so before the more springy stuff gets out! But it was a lot of fun just being Andrew and I again! We were so happy to see Cannon again on Saturday night though! Our lives are a little bit boring without him around for too long! :)

Oh My Child!

As much as I love and adore my son, I also have days that I want to lock myself in my room put my headphones on and reminisce on the days before I was called MOM!

This week my child decided to put my camera in the oven. Well I had no idea it was in there until I smelt buring plastic!!! The story goes like this: I was loading some new pics to my computer and was busy messing around on the computer to notice when Cannon snatched the camera from the table. Recently I have caught him putting things in the oven, but I thought all the firm talking tos, and spankings did the trick. Well I was wrong! Later that night I was going to cook a pizza for dinner so I turned the oven on to pre-heat. Well about ten minutes later I started smelling something funny so I ran to the oven and found my camera and the USB cord melting away!!! I had just paid $200 for this camera in August for my birthday! I wanted to cry but I resorted to screaming and scaring the living day lights out of Cannon! Andrew had to make me realize it was only an object and could be replaced. So now, due to my recent loss of my camera I will be unable to post new pictures! :(

By the way, after I cooled down I immediately grabbed Cannon and hugged and kissed on him, because it is too hard to stay mad at him for too long!

Loving the Weather!

I am so glad that warm weather is in the forecast for the next several days! I hate when it is cold outside. I would move somewhere where it is warm everyday if I could, but I would have to move too far and I don't think my family would like that too much! I am watching two little girls on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I decided that since the weather was so nice and warm I would let them fill Cannon's turtle sandbox (which currently has no sand) with water! They had a blast splashing around! Cannon loves playing with them and is constantly saying I want Ella and Shelby! I hear it at least 20 times a day!

So I have reached the 10 lb mark on my weight watchers journey! It is the lowest weight I have been in a LONG time! I am so excited! I am so eager to get slim for this summer and Dana's wedding! It looks like it is paying off for now! :) I have been working out with my new friend Torrie, which is Ella and Shelby's mom. They live a couple houses down from us. We have been utilizing the fitness center at our clubhouse and enjoying the time without the kiddos!

My days have been pretty tense lately because Andrew found out they are doing a series of layoffs at work! YIKES! We are just relying on God because there is nothing else we can do. Hopefully things will start picking back up and work will come to his company so we can avoid that roadblock in our life. I have faith in God and Andrew to get us through this scary time! Keep us in your prayers!
