Lately...

July is over!!! Praise the Lord! Cannon's surgery went really good. He was running around and back to himself by Friday night. He was a little tipsy when we got home. We all had fun watching his as he tried to lean over and would fall over or if he tried to walk he was go sideways and fall over. But after a long nap he was back to normal. He never really showed any signs that he was in any pain or discomfort from the surgery either. I was so happy that he didn't because that is so hard to handle knowing your baby is in pain and you can't do much to help them.

Nana has been here with us this past week and we tried round 2 of potty training. It worked this time!!! Cannon is going to the potty by himself during the day and we make him go when he first gets up and right before bed. He hasn't wet the bed yet! Knock on wood!!! Tuesday was a rough day with potty training and he peed his pants every single time he went that day. So I decided that night we would put his underwear on him but put a pull up on time to avoid a wet bed in the morning. So Andrew went to put the pull up on him and I heard "No Daddy!! Cannon a big boy. I don't wear diapers, I wear underwear!" We all starting cracking up! He went to bed with just underwear and didn't wet the bed that night either. The only part we are still working on is pooping in the potty. He goes in the bathroom and either poops in his pant and then dumps it in the toilet or poops on the floor and puts it in the toilet. This is progress and moving in the right direction. He actually pooped in the potty for the first time today. Hopefully that will be repeated from here out.

Lately Cannon has been saying some pretty funny stuff. For instance, I was telling Cannon last Sunday night before bed that when he got up in the morning he would be a big boy because he was not going to wear diapers anymore. He would be big and only wear underwear. I repeated this over and over and then asked Cannon what he would be in the morning. He promptly reply... PATIENT! I said no that is what mommy is going to be! HAHA!
Then the other night Cannon was coughing and he said "There's a frog in there! Mommy, the frog is choking me!" Seriously where did he get this stuff! It is hilarious to hear him say!

Well my next big event is Cannon's 3rd birthday! Let the planning begin!

  1. I hated the potty training stage with Avery. At 3 1/2 it finally clicked, after almost a year of trying to train her. I put her straight into underwear day and night at that point and never looked back. When Sage was 2 yrs 2 months old, she annouced "no more diapers", and never wore one again, not day or night, and never had an accident. It's funny how different kids can be. But it's a huge milestone. I'm glad you made it through! Yea for Cannon and you.

I'm also glad his surgery went well.
