We have started a tradition in the Mileur Family of taking a ski vacation around the Christmas holiday. We have gone to Durango,CO for the past 3 years but this year I convinced everyone to try out Angelfire, NM. I found that it was cheaper and about 4 hours closer than Durango. As it got closer to the time we headed to Angelfire things weren't looking great weather wise. Colorado was being dumped with snow while New Mexico was having an unusually "dry" season. I started to worry. I was wishing that I just kept my mouth shut and we went to Colorado like usual. I was going to feel horrible if we got there and the skiing was bad because of the lack of snow. The resort had artificial snow blowers, but still you have to have at least a little snow to make the machine of any use. There were only a few runs open as well. So we loaded up and headed to Angelfire on Tuesday Dec. 28th. When we got there, there was a dusting of snow on the ground. But God blessed our ski trip and the next three days it snowed. We got several inches of snow and a lot of happy skiers. The first day of skiing I only made it a half day because the wind was blowing and I was miserably cold. The second day I completely skipped because it was -18 on the mountain. I decided the fire looked SOOOO much better. The third day was perfect. The sun was out, the snow was coming to a stop and it was perfect conditions for skiing. We all had a great time. Cannon loved being in the snow too. We took some skis that use to belong to Andrew's cousins with us. They were the perfect size for Cannon. There was a little hill behind our cabin that we took Cannon out to. Here is how he did:
He is a natural! We also took him tubing. It was a lot of fun and Cannon didn't want to stop. I was afraid once he got to the top he wouldn't want to go down, but nope! He couldn't wait to do it over and over!
Madison had a great time as well. She is more like me and enjoyed being inside by the warm fire but she enjoyed our little sled ride.

I am not sure what we will do next year but I know that no matter what as long as we are all together a good time will be had!
