Today Cannon turns 3! I can't believe I have been a mommy for 3 years now! Cannon has brought so much joy to our lives that I can't imagine how boring and uneventful life would be without him! I am also so grateful that God has blessed me by allowing me to stay home with Cannon. I have always dreamt of staying home raising my children and God made that possible for us. I have loved watching Cannon change and grow. Each stage he goes through is so much fun to watch. But I have to admit there are times that are not so fun as well!

Some of my favorite things about my sweet boy:

I love how he thinks there is a song for everything. I sing a song for when I pour his Chocolate milk. Now he think there is a song for every action, such as going to the car, or putting in a dvd, or so on and so on. It isn't very easy to think up songs on the spot!

I love how he is using so many words now. He will repeat practically anything now! It is so fun hearing him mimic us or throw out a word we didn't even know was in his vocabulary.

I love when I am getting ready in the morning how Cannon will come in and talk to me. Then when I least expect it he says, "You're pretty Mommy!" It makes my day!

I love how he gets mad at me if I spend too much time on the computer. He reminds me that he needs attention too and I feel quite guilty. He lets me know this by yelling "NOOOOOOOO, Mommy close the puter! Close it!"

I love that I know exactly where his tickle spot is! I love holding him down and making his laugh till he cries! I love hearing his laugh! It brings so much joy to my heart!

I love how he takes after me in the sweets area. Andrew, not so much! When we let Cannon have a donut the first thing he does is eat all the icing off the top and then he is done! I will eat cakes, candy, and chips all day if we would let him, but try to get him to eat dinner and he is not hungry!

I love that he loves steaks! He is my kind of boy! Which may be why I ate only beef while pregnant with him. The sight of chicken made me want to vomit!

I love how when he hears Andrew pull in from work he wants me to open the door so he can run out and see his daddy! He loves when Daddy is home from work to play with him! Lately in the mornings he begs Daddy to stay home and not go to work!

I love how I know I will now be up before 7:00 a.m. everyday because we usually have a visitor between 5:30 and 6:30 every morning. It is actually a sweet way to wake up. I am rarely grumpy in the mornings anymore.
I love when he gets in trouble by me or Andrew he will run to the other and let us know he is in trouble. If he gets a spanking he will come to me and say, "Mommy, daddy spanked me right here! Kiss it!" Or "Mommy, Daddy told me no, not to touch it!" He is so cute when he says it.

And finally I love how anytime we sing Happy Birthday now he think it is always for him! He likes to insert his name every time! But hey at least he is singing the song now instead of screaming and crying when we sing it to him!

God has truly blessed us with this precious boy. He is beautiful inside and out. He is full of life and energy, but has a tender heart. He can not stand for anyone to be upset at him so he will do everything he can to make you smile. He really is my pride and joy. He is going to be such a great big brother!

Surprise!!!!

We had a great surprise for our family this weekend at Cannon's Birthday. We are PREGNANT!!! Yea! We bought Cannon a big brother shirt and put it in a sack along with my positive pregnancy test. When Cannon pulled out the shirt he didn't let everyone see what the shirt said so I told him to see what else was in there. When he pulled out the p-test everyone thought it was a marker! So I told Cannon to show Nana and she told everyone it says PREGNANT! It was a lot of fun!

I just found out a few days before that I actually was prego. I am horrible about keeping things like that quiet. I want people to share in the excitement with me because my hubby isn't the best at showing his excitement. He is happy though, which is an improvement from last time. Since Cannon was a surprise baby while we were still poor and in college, he was a little freaked out by the idea! Now that we were able to plan this baby he is more prepared.

Cannon likes the idea of a new baby brother or sister. He actually keeps saying sister. I hope he is right! I will be happy with a healthy baby though. I really like little boys too! Plus I already have a boys wardrobe. Last night I asked Cannon if he wanted to tell his little brother or sister night night. He leaned over and said "Night, Night baby." I thought awwww how sweet! Then he grabbed my stomach and said "I'm going to EAT your baby!" Where in the world did that come from! Sounds a little creepy to me. I think I will have to watch him around the baby for a while when it gets here!

Cannon's birthday went great! He had a veggie tales theme. The cake was blue like the ocean and had The Pirate's That Don't Do Anything on top. He couldn't keep his hands off of it! Here are a few pics of the party!

What a Weekend!

I got back from Oklahoma on Tuesday evening and I was completely worn out! I had a fun-filled busy, non-stop weekend. On Thursday I left Dallas and headed to OK. I got a text about mid-way in my travels from my BFF Candice saying her water broke! YEA! I was so excited! My plan had worked. I told her she needed to have that boy while I was in town and she got to it before I even got there! So I went in to Tulsa met up with my step-mom and we got together with some good friends of ours to see her new baby boy. He was so adorable! I also had my sweet niece Adi with me for the afternoon. So it was just like a triple dose of baby fever.

Thursday night I headed up to the hospital to see Candice and how she was progressing. She got to the hospital at around 9:30 am, I think, and so I figured she was still in the pre-pushing stage. Well I was wrong. she had been pushing since 6:30. When I got there it was 7:30. No news until 9:30 that baby Cooper had been born! He has a head full of dark hair and is absolutely beautiful! He is ALMOST as beautiful as Cannon was. (: On Friday I spend about 6 hours up at the hospital with them. I got to spend time talking to Candice and my favorite part, of course, was holding Cooper.

Then on Saturday we had the big 3rd Birthday party! Cannon and Gage had a blast at the park. We ate a yummy lunch and then opened about a million presents. Those two little boys are loved! I have discovered that Cannon is not a big fan of dinosaurs though! He is okay with dinosaurs that make no sound but add in the growling effect, and he wants NOTHING to do with it. Unfortunately, we were not fully aware of his dislike for dinosaurs until we had their dino themed party. Poor Cannon was deathly afraid of a few of his dinosaur presents. He received a very nice, BIG, T-Rex from Aunt Terry. When he saw it growl he said, "NO,NO, Mommy! Get it away!" We had fun watching his reaction for the next couple of days whenever we made it growl. Poor baby! What kind of sick people are we! Making a kid scared to death and laughing about it! But honestly, if you could have seen his reaction, you would laugh too!

Cannon excited about his new power tools!

The birthday boys!

Sunday we had a 50th Birthday celebration for my Mom. She will be 50 on September 10th. I wasn't going to be in town again so we decided to have her party that weekend as well. Mom, you are an amazing woman. Life has been hard at times but I have always admired your strength and hard work. You always did what you could to provide for us, even if it meant working 3 jobs! You will forever be one of the strongest women I know, and for that I look up to you! Here's to another 50 stress-free and fabulous years! Love you lots!

Momma and her girls!

And finally, if anyone is still reading to this point, on Monday I went to Pryor to spend more time with Candice and Cooper. I knew it was going to be a while before I saw them again so I wanted to make sure I got a good amount of time with them. I know he will look completely different when I see him again! Why do babies have to grow! Mine is going to be 3 in 8 days!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Back to Oklahoma We Go!

Well once again Cannon and I will be making that trip back up to Oklahoma. We have a lot of exciting things going on while we are there! We are having a combined birthday party for Cannon and Gage's 3rd birthday on Saturday. Then Saturday night I have to head to Pryor to celebrate my Papa's 70th birthday! Then on Sunday I will head back to Tulsa. I hope somewhere in that time Candice will have Cooper so that I will be able to be there for her like she was for me when Cannon was born. If she doesn't have him before Tuesday the doctor will induce her. So I will not come home until I see my new nephew! Well, he is not actually my nephew but Candice and I are as close as sisters so we just call our children each other's nephews! :) Once I make it home from Oklahoma I will then put Cannon's Texas party together because we will have everyone in town for that during Labor Day! And my Sunday School class decided to have a lake party that weekend so Saturday my day will be completely full!!! I am excited for everything though!

Lately we have been having an un-Godly amount of spiders around our house. I HATE SPIDERS! I have a major, MAJOR phobia of them. I find it hard to get in bed at night in fear that there is a spider waiting under the covers for me! So basically I am a big chicken when it comes to killing them. I don't want to get anywhere near them! Cannon has been catching on to the whole spiders thing and seeing them around the house and us killing them. Well the other day it was just Cannon and I, he came running in yelling "Fpider, Fpider Mommy!" Oh great I thought, I have to kill it. So I told him that I would take care of it, but he said "No Mommy! I do it!" and ran to the room. I started yelling "NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO! Get back, get away from the spider!" He told me he wanted to kill it! I told him that only mommy and daddy can do it right now because spiders like to bite! I find it so sad that my almost 3 year old son is braver than I am. Andrew told me the other day he had killed a spider and told Cannon to get him toilet paper to pick it up. Cannon ran and got the paper and then picked the spider up HIMSELF!!!! That is where I draw the line! I kill them and then leave them for Andrew to pick up when he gets home. I am so ashamed of myself!

Wall Decor...

I love decorating. I was so excited when I finally had a place of my own to decorate any way I wanted. I love looking through magazines and getting ideas. I am not exactly sure where I got this idea but I was looking for something to spice up my bedroom decor and saw a print I am in love with right now. For some reason I am drawn to black and white prints. I was on the scrapbooking aisle at Wal-mart and this paper caught my attention. It was brown and white zebra print and a lot of other black and white, black and brown combinations. I thought to myself "Hmmm...I could do something with this." Then I had it. I decided to frame the scrapbook pages. I got the scrapbook tablet, which has about 15 pages with different designs, for $5.00. Then I went to the picture frame section and found 3 frames. I wanted it to go above my bed so I chose 3- 8X10's and they were $3.00 each. Here are the steps to framing the paper.

1. Take out the paper that is package in the frame as a display.

2. Lay it on the pattern paper of your choice. Make sure you find a good spot when the design will look good and centered. You don't want it to look chopped off.

3. Take a pencil and trace around the display paper, then cut it out. By using it as a guide it should insure that it will be a perfect fit for the frame.

4.Place the pattern paper in the frame and put the back of the frame on.

5. Hang your pictures where ever your heart desires!

Here is what my finished product looked like:

The middle one is hard to make out on here but it is a

black and brown design.
I think it looks pretty good for only costing about $15 bucks!

The Pantless Wonders

Cannon and his friend Ella grabbed the guitars and started singing and playing the other day. It was so cute I just had to catch it on tape! Then I notice both of them were pantless, hints the name The Pantless Wonders! HAHA! Hope you enjoy their performances.

I once again have a few very busy weekends ahead. I will have the Mileur Family in this weekend. We wanted to get everyone together once this summer to enjoy some good family time. I think we may go tour the new Dallas Cowboys' Stadium. Then next weekend I will be headed to Oklahoma once again to celebrate Cannon's birthday with his cousin Gage. They are both turning 3! I am also hoping my best friend goes into labor that week or weekend too! I really want to be there when she has baby Coop! I can't wait to meet him! And then the third weekend will be Labor Day weekend and we are having family over and then once again celebrating Cannon's birthday with the other side of the fam. I tell you what, my child is spoiled having two parties each year! Unfortunately that is the only way to do it so that everyone is able to be there.

I think I will begin to add a new feature to my blog. I alway enjoy a good craft so I decided that I would share these fun, EASY, crafts that I find so some of you might partake in them too! I don't think it will be an everday or even an every week thing but just when I run across some I will share them. I have a few in mind that I will start with! Next post though! Enjoy the videos!

Lately...

July is over!!! Praise the Lord! Cannon's surgery went really good. He was running around and back to himself by Friday night. He was a little tipsy when we got home. We all had fun watching his as he tried to lean over and would fall over or if he tried to walk he was go sideways and fall over. But after a long nap he was back to normal. He never really showed any signs that he was in any pain or discomfort from the surgery either. I was so happy that he didn't because that is so hard to handle knowing your baby is in pain and you can't do much to help them.

Nana has been here with us this past week and we tried round 2 of potty training. It worked this time!!! Cannon is going to the potty by himself during the day and we make him go when he first gets up and right before bed. He hasn't wet the bed yet! Knock on wood!!! Tuesday was a rough day with potty training and he peed his pants every single time he went that day. So I decided that night we would put his underwear on him but put a pull up on time to avoid a wet bed in the morning. So Andrew went to put the pull up on him and I heard "No Daddy!! Cannon a big boy. I don't wear diapers, I wear underwear!" We all starting cracking up! He went to bed with just underwear and didn't wet the bed that night either. The only part we are still working on is pooping in the potty. He goes in the bathroom and either poops in his pant and then dumps it in the toilet or poops on the floor and puts it in the toilet. This is progress and moving in the right direction. He actually pooped in the potty for the first time today. Hopefully that will be repeated from here out.

Lately Cannon has been saying some pretty funny stuff. For instance, I was telling Cannon last Sunday night before bed that when he got up in the morning he would be a big boy because he was not going to wear diapers anymore. He would be big and only wear underwear. I repeated this over and over and then asked Cannon what he would be in the morning. He promptly reply... PATIENT! I said no that is what mommy is going to be! HAHA!
Then the other night Cannon was coughing and he said "There's a frog in there! Mommy, the frog is choking me!" Seriously where did he get this stuff! It is hilarious to hear him say!

Well my next big event is Cannon's 3rd birthday! Let the planning begin!
