The Good News and the Bad News....

The Good News...

Today I have reached 30 weeks! That means our sweet girl will be here in 10 weeks or less. I, of course, am hoping for the "or less" part. I had Cannon early so hopefully Madison will take after her big brother and arrive a few weeks early. Which brings me to the bad news.

The Bad News...

Andrew found out today that his trip to Brazil has been moved back two weeks. That means he will be gone from April 3rd-25th. My due date is May 14th. I had Cannon at 36 weeks. The scenario isn't playing out very well in my head! How sad would it be if my hubby had to miss the birth of his daughter. (Although, I am sure he could handle missing out on the actually delivery part! (: )

I don't know what to think about the whole situation. He really needs to take the opportunity to go on this trip for work. It is not something that everyone gets to do and he has been chosen twice to go to Brazil. It is a really good thing for him, but at the same time how in the world will I survive 3 weeks without him especially so close to Madison's due date. Everyone is telling me not to worry blah, blah, blah, but none of them are in my boat! I think everyone would be feeling just as panicked as I am if they were in my situation. Plus I am pregnant and very emotional, irrational, so this is basically like the end of the world to me, okay! :)

I do have wonderful family and friends who have offered to help me out, so I know things will work out, but I just want my hubby. Is that too much to ask?!

We have a lot going on in the next couple of months! I have a another baby shower in Oklahoma next weekend. Then when we get back to Texas my MIL is staying with me for some of her spring break and we will get Mady Jane's room put together! I ordered her crib and they said it should be delivered that week! I am so excited for the things to come in the next few months, but very anxious as well!

Bunco and Baby Shower

I had quite a busy weekend! It was also a weekend full of fun though! On Friday night I had Bunco at my house. I got together a group of ladies from my church to start a Bunco group. It was soooooo much fun! We ate, talked, played, and won prizes! Who could ask for more, right?! I had been looking forward to this night all week. I decided to wait until Friday to do the majority of the house cleaning because Cannon makes a mess so quickly. Well I got up and ready to get started that morning. First thing I did, I threw out my back! I bent over to wipe Cannon's nose and felt this sharp pain shoot across my back. I couldn't stand back up! I was stuck! I waddled the best I could to my bed and just laid there. GREAT! I thought. I am going to have to cancel Bunco because, first off I can't move, and second my house is a WRECK! I called Andrew and told him my horrible misfortune. He told me to just stay down and put some ice on my back and he would be home shortly. So I did just that. I tried a couple of times to get up and do a few things and it just wasn't working. So my wonderful hubby gets home from work and cleans the entire house! All by himself, no complaining, no sarcastic comments, or ways of making me feel guilty. He was absolutely wonderful! On top of that he took great care of me and nursed me back to health so I could enjoy the evening with my friends. I wasn't 100% that night but I was able to at least move around without crying in pain. I still am having discomfort in my back but I think that is going to stay with me until our sweet girl is born.

Speaking of our sweet girl, my sweet friends at church blessed us with a baby shower. It was so fun to get all the precious little girl things. Andrew complained that all the pink was hurting his eyes! :) They put together a beautiful shower to honor Mady Jane. She is already so loved and anticipated by so many people. I feel so blessed that these ladies took the time and effort to shower us with love. They asked me what I was craving and I told them sweets, sweets, and more sweets! They did wonderful in supplying the sweets! It was Y-U-M-M-Y!! I think I had sugar overload! I was a little shakey afterwards! :) It was totally worth it though. Here are a few pictures from the shower.

Pregnancy Fun

So today was the dreaded 3 hour glucose test. My doctor's office told me that I needed to fast at least 8 hours before so I scheduled the earliest appointment which was at 8:45. The nurse told me to bring a snack because I could eat it as soon as they took my fasting blood and then drank the glucose drink. So I thought no big deal I can make it. Well...my bubble was burst by the lovely lab tech. She said there is absolutely no eating or drinking until the 3 hour test was completed! Seriously!!! Who in the world thinks it is a good idea to starve a pregnant women! I don't! Madison wasn't too happy about the whole process either. She was kicking something fierce this morning. IT HURT! I tried to explain to her I was not the one being mean and keeping her from nourishment, but she still took it out on me. So not fair! Honestly the 3 hours went by pretty quickly and it was nice to have time to somewhat relax. I did not enjoy sitting in uncomfortable waiting room chairs though. I think they should offer us pregnant ladies nicer accommodations when we have to camp out there that long. A bed, a couch, a recliner.... I don't know what they have against us. Oh well...I survived. Hopefully with our next child (if there is a next child) I won't have to partake in this lovely experience again! I won't know the results until later this week but let's hope everything turns out good and I won't have to do a special diet or anything. What kind of fun would I have then! I am suppose to be able to eat whatever I want now, right!?

V-Day

Ah, Valentine's Day, such a wonderful holiday when you have amazing loves like me!

This morning I told Cannon Happy Valentine's Day! He quickly replied, "Thanks! What did you get me!" Hmmm...I think he thinks if you say the word happy in front of a special day then he gets presents! Later this morning he told his Sunday School teacher that he had a birthday cake at home. (I purchased a small v-day cake from the store last night.) Let me tell you, that boy did not forget about the cake! He asked about it as soon as we picked him up from Sunday School. We went out to lunch and on the way home he fell asleep. Andrew carried him in and was laying him down and he woke up saying, "I want cake!" We had to reassure him he would get his piece of cake AFTER he took a nap. He wasn't too happy but we finally got him to sleep. First thing he wanted when he got up from his nap, CAKE! :) Silly boy.

Playin' in the SNOW!

We enjoyed the beautiful snow we received this week. Cannon looked out the window and thought we were in Colorado! He kept asking when we were going to go skiing. :) He had lots of fun making snow angels, a snowman, and mowing the snow! Now the snowman was NOT my doing. He and Aunt Rachel made this lovely pregnant snowwoman. I am not sure why they had to accentuate certain parts of her body, but all I can say is I am SOO glad that they built this in the backyard!! :)

Madison's Crib Bedding

This past weekend my Mother-in-law and I took a great risk! I got the crazy idea that I wanted to make Madison's crib bedding custom. So I picked out the fabric and the pattern, then hoped my MIL would be up for the challenge. I have to admit. I was a little nervous at first. I am very particular when it comes to my home decor and design ideas. This was one I was very excited about doing. So when it came to actually putting it together, I started to second guess myself. My thoughts of how am I going to tell Bequita that I don't like it or that it just isn't what I was imagining, etc. But I was shocked to find that it came out better than I dreamed it to be! I absolutely love it! It is perfect in every way. The most special part of it is that her bedding was made by her Nana and her momma. We spent the entire weekend from the time we got there on Friday until Sunday right before we left, working on every detail of her beautiful bedding. It was so fun to make it, although exhausting, and seeing the final product. I will be so sad the day she grows out of her crib and we have to put it away.

Excuse the make shift crib we have yet to order her crib!

3 Going on 13!

I don't know what is happening to my sweet little boy. Lately the things coming out of his mouth are so crazy that I think he must have been abducted or something. Or maybe he picked these up from the week in Oklahoma....hmmm. :) Here are a few of the recent phrases and conversations that have happened.

In the car:

Andrew: What the crap!

Cannon: What the crap!

Me and Andrew: (Shock and hysterical laughter)

Cannon: What's that crap doing!

Andrew: Cannon don't say that.

Cannon: What's up with that crap!

Me: (Crying because I am laughing so hard)

Sunday getting ready to leave for church:

I was sitting at the bar when Andrew says okay lets go. I continue to sit at the bar for a few second too long because Cannon says "Well are you coming or what!?"

One night at dinner:

Andrew was sharing his plate with Cannon. Cannon tells us he is thirsty so Andrew tried to give him a drink from his cup. Cannon say "No, I want my own one." Again, I didn't move fast enough for Cannon because he looks at me and say "Uh..Is that a problem!"

But despite all of his mouthy moments some of the words I have loved to hear the most from him are:

"Daddy, you're my best friend!"

"Mommy, you're my favorite girl!"

"That Madison Jane is a pretty girl!"

Awww... I love him.
